The story began to spread online after a document surfaced on social media, claiming to be a divorce petition allegedly filed by Adekunle Gold at the High Court of Lagos State.

The manager of Nigerian singer Simi has dismissed rumours suggesting that she and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are planning to end their marriage.

The story began to spread online after a document surfaced on social media, claiming to be a divorce petition allegedly filed by Adekunle Gold at the High Court of Lagos State.

The paper, dated February 28, 2026, stated that the marriage had broken down and mentioned issues such as emotional, financial and professional control.

It also claimed that the court was asked to dissolve the marriage and decide on joint custody of their child.

However, Simi’s manager, Vincent, said the document was not real.

According to him, the paper contained several mistakes that showed it did not come from a proper legal process.

He explained that the use of stage names in the document raised doubts, as such names are not usually accepted in court filings.

He also pointed out that the suit number written on the document showed a 2024 reference, which did not match the supposed 2026 filing date.

“It’s fake and fabricated. First, stage names are not tenable in any court of justice worldwide as indicated in the document.

:Even the suit number on the document is backdated to 2024 (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178),” he said.

Simi and Adekunle Gold have been together for years. They started as friends and music partners before their relationship became public. The couple got married in January 2019 in a private ceremony.

In 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Adejare, who is also known as Deja.
