Lagos Traditional Ruler and His Son Land in Prison...You Won't Believe What Their Crime is

A traditional ruler and his son are being brought to book after being alleged to have committed a grievous crime.

 
 
Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja yesterday remanded the traditional ruler of Temidire community in Agbado Oke-Odo area of the state, Alhaji Nojeem Abioye and his son, Wahab Abioye in prison custody over alleged killing of one Alhaji Rasaki Olatunji, popularly known as Tunji Alaso.
 
The judge gave the order after the two men were arraigned before him on two count charge of conspiracy to commit a felony to wit; Murder contrary to Section 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011 and Murder contrary to Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
 
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge brought against them by the Lagos State government.
 
According to the prosecution, the deceased, a hotelier with an alleged reputation for homosexuality, was reportedly murdered during a riot on July 20, 2015 in Oko-filling area, Alagbado, Lagos State.
 
Police investigation had also revealed that sometime on July 20, 2015, the community leader, Alhaji Nojimu Abioye and the people in that community organised a protest and while the protest was on the deceased arrived at the venue in his vehicle.
