16-Year-Old Boy Shoots And K!lls His Friend While Playing With Father's Gun In Niger State

The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, March 13, 2026 said Emmanuel shot and k!lled his 15-year-old friend, Titus Joseph.

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a vigilante member, Danladi Baba, along with his 16-year-old son, Emmanuel Danladi, over alleged negligence and culpable homicide in Suleja.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, March 13, 2026 said Emmanuel shot and k!lled his 15-year-old friend, Titus Joseph. 

According to the PPRO, both boys were playing on March 1 when Emmanuel picked his father's dane gun and shot Titus in the stomach. 

“On 1st March, 2026 at about 6pm, a report was received at Maje Div that one Emmanuel Danladi 16yrs of Kwamba-Suleja was playing with his friend Titus Joseph 15yrs in their house, and in the course of this, Emmanuel picked a loaded dane gun belonging to his father Danladi Baba 51yrs, who is a member of vigilante group in Suleja, and shot Titus at a close range in the stomach, leading to his de@th,” the statement read.

"Police operatives attached to the Div moved to the scene, and the corpse was taken to general hospital Suleja, while the suspect and his father were arrested for negligence and culpable homicide. 

“The said dane gun was also recovered and both suspects with the exhibit were transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and prosecution.”
