Several passengers sustained injuries after a train traveling from Abuja to Kaduna derailed on Monday following a collision.
Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Kayode Opeifa, confirmed the incident on Monday.
According to him, the train encountered an incident near Asham.
He explained that no person had died while filing the report; however, the injured passengers had been brought back to Idu train station for necessary medical attention.
Opeifa said NRC is currently carrying out an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
“It is confirmed that our Abuja-Kaduna train had an incident at Asham. Passengers were injured while an investigation is ongoing into the exact cause of the incident,” he told Daily Post.
