Ojudu stated that he did not encounter any security threats while travelling across several towns and villages in the state.

Former federal lawmaker Babafemi Ojudu has rejected claims that Taraba State is experiencing insecurity.

Ojudu stated that he did not encounter any security threats while travelling across several towns and villages in the state.

He disclosed this over the weekend during a visit to Nwonyo Lake in Ibi Local Government Area, where the state government is partnering with La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort to develop an eco-tourism resort.

He commended the security situation in the state, describing his recent visit as peaceful and reassuring despite earlier warnings.

Ojudu said, “On security issues in Taraba, I cannot see any threat. I have been moving from town to town, villages to villages, driving on the road with little or no security. The people are friendly and hardworking.”

Ojudu disclosed that prior to his visit, he had been warned about potential dangers, including kidnapping and violence, but noted that such fears did not materialise.

“Before coming to Taraba, I was told to be careful that I could get kidnapped or k!lled. But I do not see any such threats here. The government is doing well in terms of security .

“I am urging all Nigerians to come to Taraba. It is a beautiful place. Come and eat mangoes, watermelon, and lots of fruits here,” he said.

Reflecting on a previous visit to the state in 1991, he noted that the progress recorded under the current administration is impressive.

“I was here in 1991, and I think the government is getting it right. I am really fascinated by what the government is doing,” he said.
