Lagos Residents Trapped as Massive Flood Causes Total Gridlock in Lekki (Photos)

The heavy rainfall which occurred today in the city of Lagos, has caused a massive flood and total gridlock in the Island and Lekki area of the state.

 
There was a heavy rainfall today in the city of Lagos and as usual, the residents of the Island and its Lekki axis are currently bearing the brunt of the downpour.
 
Lekki which is located to the east of Lagos city, is a naturally formed peninsula, adjoining to its west Victoria Island and Ikoyi districts of Lagos, with the Atlantic Ocean to its south, Lagos Lagoon to the north, and Lekki Lagoon to its east.
 
Below are photographs of the Lekki area of Lagos this afternoon after the heavy downpour as residents are spotted suffering as a result of the rainfall;
