Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state today helped in clearing refuse off the streets of Ondo State as workers staged a peaceful protest over non-payment of their five months salaries.

His action has been heavily mocked on social media as Nigerians feel its a damage control technique to appeal to the conscience of the aggrieved workers ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

A former president of the Nigeria Bar Association, Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress is one of the leading aspirants tipped to occupy the Alagbaka government house in 2017 as Mimiko's tenure ends this year.
