JAMB Under Guard in Abuja as Police Deploys Rapid Response Teams To CBT Centres

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has officially guaranteed the safety of candidates and officials participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Ahmed Sanusi, the Federal Capital Territory's Commissioner of Police, has promised applicants and other participants in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination sufficient protection during the exam period.

Additionally, he issued a warning that any attempt to interfere with the exercise would result in swift legal action.

Following the CP's evaluation of security deployments throughout Computer-Based Test centers for the current investigation, Josephine Adeh, the command's spokesperson, issued a statement on Thursday that included the guarantee.

According to the statement, Sanusi assessed security arrangements put in place to safeguard candidates, officials, and examination facilities.

“During the inspection, the CP evaluated security arrangements put in place to protect candidates, officials, and examination facilities. He also interacted with centre supervisors, assuring them of adequate security presence throughout the examination period,” the statement partly read.

The police boss reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stressing that any disruption would not be tolerated.

According to the statement, "He further warned that any attempt to disrupt the process would be met with decisive action in line with the law." Sanusi also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through designated emergency lines.

In order to ensure a smooth exercise, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu issued an order directing the deployment of fast response teams to examination centers around the country.
