Daniel Bwala, the President's Special Advisor on Policy Communication, claims that during Bola Tinubu's administration, the availability of electricity has improved in several areas of Nigeria compared to prior years.

Bwala stated that Nigerians now have greater access to power than they did in 2015 and 2023 during an appearance on ARISE News.

"In some areas of the country, light has improved; Nigerians now have more power than they did in 2015 and 2023," stated Bwala. According to him, the improvement is not accidental but the result of deliberate policy and legislative interventions aimed at restructuring the power sector.

He said, “We have created the legislative environment that has given rise to the capacity of states, local governments, and even the private sector to participate in both generation and distribution of power.”

He highlighted that continuous reforms are designed to open up the electricity market, allowing sub-national governments and private investors to play more active roles in addressing supply gaps.

Bwala maintained that these changes are gradually translating into better electricity availability in different parts of the country, even though challenges in the sector persist.
