Deadly Elephant Rampage in Oyo Community Leaves One Dead, Another Missing

Tragedy struck the Innayin community in Oyo State’s Oke Ogun region after a wild elephant attack claimed the life of Ibrahim Tijani and left another resident, Alhaji Muhammadu Bingin, missing.

Due to injuries he received during a wild elephant attack, one person has passed away.

Sources claim that the event happened on Thursday in the Innayin community in Oyo State's Oke Ogun geopolitical zone.

It was discovered that a man named Ibrahim Tijani died as a result of the elephant attacking him.

According to sources, the same animal assaulted Alhaji Muhammadu Bingin, another individual.Due to injuries he received during a wild elephant attack, one person has passed away.

Sources claim that the event happened on Thursday in the Innayin community in Oyo State's Oke Ogun geopolitical zone.

It was discovered that a man named Ibrahim Tijani died as a result of the elephant attacking him.

According to sources, the same animal assaulted Alhaji Muhammadu Bingin, another individual.

The first victim's body has been sent to a medical facility.

When contacted, Olayinka Ayanlade, the State Police command's public relations officer, confirmed the incidences.

According to him, the command is looking into the situation right now.

"Police officers, working with local hunters and vigilantes, quickly mobilized to the scene upon receiving a distress call," stated Ayanlade.

"Ibrahim Tijani's lifeless body was found in a nearby thicket upon arrival, with injuries consistent with an animal assault.

For the required medical investigation and preservation, his remains have been sent to the General Hospital in Iwere-Ile.

Another person, known as Alhaji Muhammadu Bingin, was reported missing during ongoing search activities following an encounter with the same animal. There are now intensive efforts to find him.

"The Command would like to reassure the people of Innayin and the surrounding towns that the situation is being continuously monitored and that every effort is being made to stop more harm.

"The public is strongly advised to stay away from the affected area and to notify security agencies right away if they see the animal."
