Emmanuel Eboué, a former football player, revealed the intense suffering and longing he experiences on a daily basis in an emotive description of his long-term separation from his kids.
"Yes, it's my prayer every day," Eboué replied openly. I pray for my children, including my two daughters, and I ask God to provide me the opportunity to see them someday.
He clarified that even though he had the chance to travel, he decided to stay home in the hopes of getting back in touch with them. "I always pray for them, but I would rather stay in my home country than travel to England."
The former defender for Arsenal FC revealed that he hasn't seen his kids in years and doesn't even have any new pictures of them. "I don't have any recent pictures; the ones I have are old, when they were kids," he stated, adding that their mother has refused to provide new pictures.
Eboué disclosed that he frequently depends on other people to catch a peek of his kids. He said, "Some of my players go on the media, check, and send me pictures."
He also discussed his unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with them. "They read the messages I send them, but they don't respond," he remarked. "Last month was Eva's birthday, I called, it was ringing, she didn't answer, I sent a message, she read, but didn't reply," he said, recalling missing birthdays.
Eboué acknowledged that even after reconstructing several aspects of his life, the loss of his children continues to be his biggest suffering. "I have my life now, but my children are missing from it."
