As part of ongoing counterterrorism operations under Operation HADIN KAI, the Nigerian Air Force claims to have conducted a coordinated air strike against terrorist sites in Guduf, which is situated in the Mandara Mountains.

The strike occurred in the Mandara Mountains, which are mostly in Adamawa State and stretch into Borno State near the northeastern boundary between Nigeria and Cameroon.

The operation was carried out on April 27, 2026, in response to reliable intelligence and confirming intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance reports, according to a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters.

NAF air assets "executed a coordinated operation that identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs actively supporting insurgent activities within the area," according to Ejodame. The mission was executed precisely and in accordance with established rules of engagement.

He said that while maintaining "due regard for the protection of civilians and the surrounding environment," the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI used precision targeting to engage and neutralize hostile elements and their infrastructure.

According to the Air Force, the attack reduced the operational capability of the impacted insurgent network by destroying important terrorist buildings and logistical hubs in the enclave, which it described as a known hideout in the Mandara Mountains.

The operation, according to NAF, demonstrates its continued efforts to deny terrorist groups freedom of action and strengthen ongoing security operations aimed at safeguarding national security.
