President Bola Tinubu has made it clear he is not backing down from power, declaring his intention to run for a second term in 2027 despite rising insecurity across parts of Nigeria.

Declaring that he will run for a second term, President Bola Tinubu has insisted that growing unrest in some regions of the nation won't drive him from office.

Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other Plateau State stakeholders were there when the President made these statements.

Tinubu claimed that anyone trying to use the nation's security issues against his government was supporting the goals of hostile groups and his political rivals.

Tinubu declared, "You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me."

The President described himself as a determined politician and stated that he stayed unwavering in the face of growing criticism over security issues.
"As a politician, I am incredibly obstinate. I simply won't go. "And I'll run for a second term," he declared.

Tinubu's comments coincide with growing worries about armed group attacks, kidnappings, and murders in several regions of the nation, with opposition leaders and civil society organizations urging the Federal Government to take more decisive action.

The President has justified his administration's actions on several occasions, claiming that security services are receiving assistance to combat threats and bring stability back to the country.

When Nigerians cast ballots for president once more in 2027, Tinubu, who took office in May 2023, is anticipated to finish his first term.
