Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged political figures in the Progressives movement to refrain from pulling down the roof as political activity intensifies, accompanied by a well-known democratic fever.

The Vice President personally signs a statement urging civility at all levels and among officials, stating that the marketplace of ambition is alive again, elders are receiving visitors, supporters are courting delegates, and discussions have started and candidates are making calls.

According to him, the season serves as evidence that democracy is still alive and that power must still be earned, negotiated, challenged, and persuaded.

According to Vice President Shettima, it is a common practice because every political season brings with it the desire to make mistakes, dispute for treachery, competitiveness for enmity, preference for exclusion, and media interpretation for reality.

It is normal for members of the same political household to have different goals, different loyalists, different spheres of influence, different calculations, and different preferred outcomes because democracy was never intended to eradicate ambition but rather to teach actors how to compete without destroying one another, disagree without demonizing one another, and lose without destroying the very platform that gave them a voice.

Therefore, he urges people to resist the temptation to be swayed by the media, mischievous people, special interests, or those who profit from division.
