NUC Gives Green Light: Achievers University Secures Full Accreditation for 7 New Courses

Achievers University has received full accreditation approval from the National Universities Commission for seven academic programmes, marking a major boost to its academic standing.

Achievers University, located in Owo, Ondo State, has received approval from the National Universities Commission for seven academic programs.

Olaniyi Adekanye, the university's head of media and publicity, made this announcement on Wednesday.

Medical laboratory science, computer engineering, civil and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, microbiology, criminology and security studies, and sociology are among the recognized courses, according to the statement.

"In a formal correspondence to the university dated April 7, 2026, and signed by the Commission's Director of Accreditation, the NUC confirms that all the programs presented by the university met its rigorous quality assurance standards, covering curriculum content, staffing, infrastructure, library resources, and academic delivery," the statement stated.

The highest rank bestowed by the Commission is full accreditation, which is good for a period of five years.

"The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyesoji Aremu, announced the positive report to the university community, describing the accomplishment as a significant boost to the institution's academic profile and a validation of its commitment to excellence through rich and sustained investment in faculty development, modern laboratory facilities, and continuous curriculum review in alignment with global best practices to facilitate the university's delivery of high-quality higher education."

Aremu was thrilled about the development and said the news was encouraging and a fantastic way to start the week.

He expressed his congratulations to the Governing Council, which is headed by Professor Bode Ayorinde, the Pro-Chancellor, as well as to the university's other main officers and the entire community. He also reaffirmed that the institution will continue to grow.

He exhorted the university community to be dedicated to maintaining and continuously improving the high levels of excellence for which the school is known.
