Nigerian musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has stated that working for the government won't prevent him from pursuing his career.

The musician stated in a recent livestream with Davrel that he would continue to play even if he chose to work for the government.

Davido pointed out that Michel Martelly, the previous president of Haiti, continued to perform as a singer while in office.

"I would still be performing if I ever chose to work for the government. That doesn't stop anything, in my opinion.

It won't be as much as it was before, of course. Even while president of Haiti, Michel Martelly continued to perform as a musician. He even went on tours while serving as president, he said.

Davido revealed that he is no longer interested about entering politics, emphasizing that he was considering his political aspirations after seeing other celebrities enter the field.

He asserted that the majority of Nigerian celebrities who have made the move from entertainment to politics have failed.

He continued by saying that while he had once been interested in politics, the reality on the ground had left him doubtful.
