A legal practitioner, Emmanuel Ogar, has called on citizens to consistently apply lawful pressure on public officials to ensure they fulfill their responsibilities and remain accountable to the people

Emmanuel Ogar, a lawyer, has urged the populace to consistently put legal pressure on their leaders and representatives to fulfill their mandates.

Ogar responded yesterday to security agencies inviting his client, Mr. Fred Obi, to participate in the pot test at the University of Cross River State, UNICROSS, two days prior.

Ogar maintained that criticizing public officials who have disregarded or failed to carry out their responsibilities is perfectly acceptable.

We also need to hold them accountable for their actions and inactions and use legal pressure on them to act morally when they are hesitant to do so. Ogar emphasized that anyone in public office who is unable to handle criticism should step down.

However, the attorney was grateful for the DSS's professionalism, tact, and civility when interacting with Obi.

Obi personally praised the Service for their professionalism during their meeting with him in his remarks following his acceptance of their offer.

"I had a quick meeting with the Director, who handled problems with professionalism and expertise.

"I was invited because I was told that there had been several complaints to the Service accusing me of leading or inciting the students' protest in Calabar. He said, "I can say that the Director was fatherly in his approach and displayed a high level of comradery. I was advised on several issues."
