Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, was criticized by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike on Wednesday for allegedly neglecting governance.
Wike claims that even though the governor has not yet presented the Rivers State House of Assembly with a budget, he is actively pursuing his second term program.
In Abuja, Wike gave a press conference.
The FCT minister was disappointed by what he called the governor's "misplaced priorities."
"The governor is busy running for a second term, but he hasn't yet submitted his budget to the House of Assembly," Wike stated.
Fubara was criticized by Wike for prioritizing political campaigns and reelection efforts over important administration duties.
The minister cautioned that the delivery of vital services to the people of Rivers State and the efficient operation of government operations could be hampered by the delay in budget presentation.
