Reno Omokri, Nigeria's ambassador-designate to Mexico, has brought attention to the growing disparity in gas prices between Nigeria and England, stating that the price of fuel in England is currently about three times more than that of Nigerians.

Omokri made the claim in a Facebook post on Wednesday, attributing the spike in fuel prices to the continuing Middle East conflict, which he said has caused petroleum prices to rise globally rather than just in Nigeria.

"Petrol Is Now #3200 Per Litre In England," he claims. nearly three times the amount we pay in Nigeria. A worldwide problem brought on by the Middle East crisis is price increases.

His remarks coincide with a substantial increase in the price of crude oil worldwide, which is being caused by significant supply interruptions that are impacting international oil markets as well as growing geopolitical concerns.

According to reports, the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route that transports around one-fifth of the world's crude oil supply, has caused crude prices to reach their highest levels since 2022.
