General Tukur Buratai (retd), a former chief of army staff, has refuted a media report that said he praised the opposition coalition and chastised President Bola Tinubu for falling short of expectations, calling it "false, fabricated, and malicious."

Buratai replied in a strongly worded statement that the story was untrustworthy and did not specify where or when he allegedly made the remarks that were attributed to him.

"It is wholly untrue, fabricated, and malicious to say that I praised the opposition coalition and said President Tinubu did not live up to expectations," he declared.

Buratai insisted that he never made such a claim and challenged the publishers to produce proof.

"The authors of the report did not specify where or when I supposedly made such remarks. They have no evidence, so I dare them to offer any. "This is a purposeful hatchet job," he said.

The former Nigerian ambassador to the Republic of Benin reiterated his support for the Tinubu government and his allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.

"Let me be clear: I continue to be a devoted, card-carrying APC member. As my calling and morals require, I continue to completely support this government," he declared.

Buratai continued by saying that his long-lasting allegiance to established authority was influenced by his years of military duty.
"I wore the uniform of loyalty to constituted authority for over 40 years, and that loyalty remains with me in retirement," he continued.

He also promised to support President Tinubu going forward, especially in the ongoing battle against insurgency and insecurity throughout the nation.

Buratai declared, "I will continue to support constituted authority under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, especially as the military intensifies its counterinsurgency efforts to bring total security to the nation."

The publication's authors, according to the retired army general, are regular disseminators of false material intended to damage his reputation.

"Those responsible for this heinous and careless disclosure are serial liars. They have already attempted to discredit me and damage my reputation. And they will fail terribly once more, just as they failed in the past," he declared.

He described the report as the result of "jaundiced and hate-filled hearts" and urged Nigerians to ignore it.

"To those who support this heinous agenda: Allah Ya fiku." "Your efforts will be in vain," he said.
