Omowunmi Aloba, widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has made fresh allegations against her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, claiming he wants the outcome of their son Liam’s DNA test to come out negative.

The late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad's widow, Omowunmi Aloba, has stated that her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, wants the results of her son's DNA test to be negative.
In an interview that is currently making the rounds on Channels TV, Omowunmi said that internal family conflicts were the root of the conflict between the two families, which started before to Mohbad's passing.
Yes, we were best friends once. I believe we had a falling out after I gave birth to my child," she remarked.
She claims that conflicts over Liam's naming ceremony and unsolved family matters grew more intense over time.
Because of the problems with the naming ceremony and the fact that my husband forgiven his mother, it happened after I had Liam. It was merely a family dispute that became something very big,” she stated.
Many people erroneously believe that the rift only started after Mohbad's death, according to Omowunmi.
Many people on the internet seem to think it's all about my husband's death. But in actuality, it's due to the family conflict we had prior to my husband's death," she continued.
The late singer's wife also said that her father-in-law concentrated talks on the singer's assets and royalties soon after Mohbad's passing.
"I was so nervous and afraid that I actually called him. I didn't get what I needed to hear from him. She said, "He was just discussing my husband's property and all of that."
She further said that Joseph Aloba wants Liam's paternity to be refuted by the DNA results.
"What he truly desires is unachievable. He genuinely wants my child's DNA to be negative," she remarked.
According to Omowunmi, the situation has gotten so bad that it could be impossible to make amends.
"I don't think this whole family feud can be settled anymore," she said.
At the age of 27, Mohbad passed away under dubious circumstances on September 12, 2023.
Nationwide indignation, demonstrations, and numerous investigations—including court cases, autopsy examinations, and ongoing disagreements over Liam's paternity—were triggered by his passing.
According to PUNCH Online, Mohbad's body was dug up for an autopsy in response to popular calls for justice, and legal disputes over DNA testing, inheritance, royalties, and the circumstances of his death have persisted into 2026.
Before the singer's ultimate funeral, Joseph Aloba has insisted on a DNA test to establish Liam's paternity. Omowunmi has asserted that Liam is Mohbad's biological son and has never opposed the test.
