Dr. George Uboh Allegedly Detained by DSS 24 Hours after Appearing on Channels TV

An Abuja-based fraud investigator, George Oboh has announced on his Facebook page his incarceration by security operatives shortly after his interview on national television.

 
Going by a statement on George Oboh's social media page, he is reported to have been incarcerated by men of the DSS.

George Uboh (Anti-corruption crusader and security expert) has been unlawfully extracted and detained by Directorate of State Security, this event took place on Tuesday 7th June, 2016 at about 1:30pm.

His office at Maitama and house at Mpape Hills were respectively searched for sensitive document connecting to the asset tracing he did for the Federal Government of Nigeria, during which he traced over N324 billion in 27 days that the AGF, Abubakar Malami failed to recover for the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Source inside the DSS said that he was currently going on trial for criminal offence at the Magistrate Court, Abuja without a lawyer. We ask the Federal Government of Nigeria to release Dr. George Uboh with immediate effect.

This is injustice in the highest order, we call on all civic societies locally and international to intervene in this matter. Dr. George Uboh has been held for 2 days without, water, food or lawyer and no access to any of his family members. He has been taken back to the DSS custody.
