Three female suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command following a raid on suspected drug hideouts in the Ogbomoro and Ugolo areas of Warri metropolis.
The operation was conducted by officers under the Effurun Area Command, acting on intelligence regarding alleged illegal drug activities in the affected communities.
The suspects were named as Favour Isaac, 25, Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19.
The raid took place on May 7, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., during which officers executed a search warrant at locations along River Road in the Ogbomoro community.
Items seized during the operation included 21 bottles of CSC codeine, two canisters of nitrous oxide commonly known as "laughing gas" two packs of a suspected psychoactive chewing gum marketed under the name "Highness Gum," and 640 grams of substances believed to be Canadian Loud, which were found concealed in bags and containers.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, noting that preliminary investigations have linked the drug supply network to a suspect named Rukewe Tega Isaac, who is currently evading arrest.
He added that efforts are underway to track down the fleeing individual and others believed to be connected to the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command's resolve to step up operations against drug trafficking and related criminal activities across the state.
He noted that the distribution and misuse of illicit substances remain key drivers of violent crime and social misconduct among young people.
He also urged residents to continue providing security agencies with reliable and timely information to support crime prevention efforts and arrests.
