A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has revealed that neither he nor his supporters received any recognition or reward despite delivering nearly two million votes in support of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television's Prime Time on Monday night, the former Kano State governor expressed disappointment that the considerable risks they took and the efforts they made during that period went entirely unacknowledged by Buhari's camp.

He lamented that neither he personally nor the constituencies he represented derived any benefit from their support.

Kwankwaso said the experience was a significant factor in pushing him toward seeking political change. He also took aim at the current administration, stating that widespread dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu's government has fueled a growing desire for change across all levels of Nigerian society.

He noted that this sentiment is being felt not only at the grassroots level but also among higher-level political actors, with many now determined that a new direction is needed for the country.
