The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated elder statesman and Afenifere leader Chief Reuben Fasoranti on his 100th birthday, describing him as a national asset whose life has been dedicated to service, leadership, and nation-building.

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, has extended warm congratulations to elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Chief Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
The Sultan described him as a source of national pride and an invaluable asset to Nigeria whose contributions to nation-building remain deeply significant.
In a statement issued by his media team, the Sultan noted that Pa Fasoranti's remarkable longevity and continued relevance across different chapters of Nigeria's political history spanning the era of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and beyond stand as a powerful testament to a life defined by exemplary service and leadership.
The Sultan specifically highlighted Pa Fasoranti's pioneering role as the first principal of Anglican Grammar School, Iju-Itaogbolu in Akure North in 1957, as well as his service as Commissioner for Finance under the late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin in the old Ondo State, describing these as among his many enduring contributions to education, governance, and national development.
He called on Nigerians who believe in the unity, peace, and progress of the country to continue celebrating and praying for the elder statesman, and asked God to grant him continued strength and good health.
The Sultan, who also chairs the National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria, joined Pa Fasoranti's family, associates, admirers, and well-wishers in marking the milestone, praying that God would continue to bless him and make him an even greater blessing to Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.
He also extended congratulations to the government and people of Ondo State, the Akure-speaking community, and Pa Fasoranti's immediate family for the privilege of having such a distinguished personality in their midst.
