Popular Nigerian digital creator English Alhaji has cried out over alleged death threats from suspected bandits following controversial remarks he made about handling captured militants.

Popular Nigerian digital creator English Alhaji has raised an alarm after receiving threatening calls from bandits, warning that his life is in danger.
The alert came via a video shared on his Instagram page. DAILY POST recalls that English Alhaji had, a week earlier, praised the youth of Achepe community in Nasarawa State for successfully repelling a bandit attack.
However, he had also criticized them for handing over captured bandits to the military rather than dealing with them decisively, arguing that reintegration programmes have proven ineffective and that captured bandits should not be handed over to security forces.
In a now-trending video, English Alhaji disclosed that bandits subsequently reached him via a WhatsApp video call, during which they threatened him in response to his earlier comments encouraging Nigerians to kill rather than hand over captured militants.
He described the experience as deeply unsettling, noting that the callers made no attempt to conceal their identities and even pointed their camera toward ammunition to demonstrate the seriousness of their threat.
According to him, the bandits warned that if they ever got hold of him, they would subject him to the same fate he had advised others to mete out to captured militants.
He expressed shock at the boldness with which the bandits operated, noting that they obtained his WhatsApp number directly from his Facebook page and made contact without any fear of consequences.
