Abia State Governor Alex Otti paid a spontaneous visit to a military outpost on Ngwa Road immediately after attending a church service, where he personally engaged with the soldiers on duty.
During the visit, he took time to speak with Captain T. Yabiteigha, inquiring about the challenges being faced by the troops on the ground.
Upon observing the state of disrepair at the base, Governor Otti wasted no time in issuing directives for immediate repairs to broken patrol vehicles and ordering infrastructural upgrades to the facility, including the installation of solar lighting.
The visit took on a deeply personal tone when Captain Yabiteigha revealed that the governor had quietly settled his hospital bills the previous year and had also extended financial support to the families of soldiers who had been wounded in the line of duty.
