Political tension is building after Peter Obi reportedly emerged as the only aspirant to secure the presidential nomination forms under the Nigeria Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 elections.

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has become the only aspirant for the presidential ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to sources who spoke to Vanguard, Obi was the sole individual who purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms before the party closed the sale, effectively making him the NDC's unchallenged presidential candidate.
