Nigerian singer Davido has triggered fresh political controversy after launching a fiery social media attack on Minister Gboyega Oyetola, accusing him of pushing a failed political agenda ahead of the upcoming Osun governorship race.

Popular Nigerian singer Davido has publicly called out the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, over what he described as an embarrassing and failed plan.
Davido made the remarks on social media in the early hours of Tuesday, tagging Oyetola a former governor of Osun State and labelling him the most desperate politician in the world, while asserting that whatever scheme he had in mind would not succeed.
Although Davido did not go into specifics about the alleged plan, his outburst comes against the backdrop of rising political tensions in Osun State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
The singer had announced two weeks earlier that he was putting his music career on pause for two months in order to actively campaign for the re-election of his uncle, current Osun State governor Ademola Adeleke.
