Award-winning Nollywood actress Kehinde Bankole has called on the Federal Government, the Office of the National Security Adviser and the country's intelligence agencies to deploy full force in tackling the rising wave of kidnappings across Nigeria.
In a post shared on social media on Wednesday, Bankole expressed the exhaustion of ordinary Nigerians, saying the public has had enough of condolence speeches and is demanding immediate action and results.
She stressed that the crisis has gone beyond analysis and is now simply a matter of saving lives, describing it as unacceptable that children are running for their lives in 2026.
The actress also addressed claims that the escalating insecurity is being sponsored by opposition elements to undermine the current administration.
Rather than using such theories as an excuse, she argued that if sabotage is indeed taking place, it should give the government even more reason to respond with greater urgency and aggression.
She called on the National Intelligence Agency, the DSS, the Ministry of Defence and all relevant security agencies to be fully activated and put to work.
Bankole insisted that the political class must move beyond symbolic gestures and deliver concrete solutions, urging the government to identify and fish out those responsible for the attacks by any means necessary.
Her comments come amid widespread outrage following the mass abduction of at least 25 schoolchildren and seven teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, which also resulted in the killing of a mathematics teacher while in captivity.
Her voice joins a growing number of Nigerian celebrities speaking out against insecurity, including actress Opeyemi Aiyeola, who recently urged politically connected public figures and traditional rulers to press the presidency for urgent action.
