The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the meeting of its national leadership caucus earlier scheduled for today, Tuesday,June 30.

The party said it would now hold  the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Friday, July 3.

The shift of the leadership caucus meeting came just as the deputy spokesman of the party, Mr. Timi Frank, disagreed with the decision of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to send a letter to the National Assembly nominating principal officers.

While confirming the cancellation of the caucus meeting on monday, the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said the decision was taken because most of the leaders are out of the country to perform the lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

The leaders’ meeting was convened to principally attend to the deepening crisis of confidence that has placed the party and the new leadership of the National Assembly against each other.

Oyegun, who spoke with reporters at the party secretariat in Abuja. said the party has instead decided to hold NEC meeting on Friday where urgent issues affecting the party will be dealt with.

He added that the party is making gradual progress on its efforts to resolve the crisis afflicting it over the disagreement on the distribution of National Assembly principal offices.
