Writer and commentator Slumflower sparked considerable conversation after appearing on a recent episode of The Echo Room, where a question from the host about what value a woman brings to a relationship prompted a frank and unapologetic exchange about gender roles and expectations.

When the host directed the question at her personally, asking what value she brings to a man in a relationship, Slumflower acknowledged that it is a question she has frequently encountered in conversations with men, and one she said she understands the reasoning behind.

Her response, however, was anything but conventional.

She stated that she brings nothing in the traditional sense, arguing instead that she herself embodies the value, purely by virtue of being a woman.

She went on to assert that men are incapable of living full, vibrant and truly enjoyable lives without a woman's presence, and that this fact alone is more than sufficient.

Slumflower was equally firm on the matter of self-worth, making clear that she feels no obligation to explain or prove her value to any man, and that recognition of her worth is either instinctive or it is not.

She also addressed the common expectation that women should bring something tangible to the table in exchange for what they receive in a relationship.

She described herself as someone who is there to be cared for and to receive, and expressed confidence that there are men who are genuinely willing to provide for women who hold this outlook.

At the same time, she acknowledged that men who feel differently are equally free to find partners whose views align more closely with their own.
