Minister of Works David Umahi has predicted that Ebonyi State will deliver ninety-five percent of its votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in next year's general election, pledging to work closely with Governor Francis Nwifuru to mobilise massive support for the president.

Umahi made the declaration while inspecting the ongoing construction of the Abaomoge/Akpoha/Afikpo road in the state.

He argued that no other president has executed infrastructure projects of the scale currently being undertaken in Ebonyi State and across the South East, and called on leaders in the region to boldly and openly declare their support for Tinubu's re-election bid.

The minister, a former governor of Ebonyi State, said the state would embark on an aggressive campaign for the president in recognition of what he described as significant investments in the region

He pushed back against longstanding narratives of marginalisation, arguing that the South East is now well represented at the highest levels of government, pointing to his own position heading one of the most consequential ministries in the current administration as evidence of the president's trust in the region.

Umahi expressed confidence that the scale of federal projects in the South East under Tinubu's administration speaks for itself, and said he was prepared to engage anyone who doubted this.

He described the outcome of the last general election in the region as an anomaly that would not be repeated, and called on young people and the educated class in Ebonyi to recognise the current moment as an opportunity to align strategically with the federal government for the long-term benefit of the region.
