Popular Nigerian Afrobeat star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has sounded the alarm over what he claims is a plan to deregister the Accord Party ahead of the upcoming governorship election in Osun State.

The musician made this allegation through a post on social media on Thursday, questioning the justification behind the reported deregistration move and calling for a free and fair electoral process.

In his words, he challenged those he perceives as opponents to settle the contest on the campaign field rather than through alleged manipulation.

This latest statement comes just two days after Davido publicly called out Gboyega Oyetola the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of Osun State over what he described as a desperate scheme against his camp, in a post that also circulated online.

For context, Osun State's sitting governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido's uncle, stepped away from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in December 2025 following internal leadership turmoil and legal disputes within the party.

He subsequently joined the Accord Party to pursue re-election. The Osun State governorship election is slated for August 15, 2026.
