Thousands of civil servants in Kano are set for a festive boost after Governor Abba Yusuf approved a special cash package ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has approved a N20,000 goodwill package for civil servants across the state and its 44 local government areas ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Tuesday in Kano by Musa Tanko-Muhammad, Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, describing the gesture as a show of support for workers during the festive period.
The News Agency of Nigeria noted that the package comes shortly after the payment of May salaries to both state and local government employees.
The benefit is set to cover workers on Grade Levels 01 to 14 across state ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils throughout Kano.
Governor Yusuf stated that the initiative reflects his administration's dedication to the welfare of workers, whom he described as the foundation of the state's public service.
He noted that the decision was driven by the current economic climate and the financial pressures that typically accompany festive seasons, expressing hope that the support would enable workers to celebrate Eid comfortably alongside their families.
The governor also reaffirmed his commitment to continuing people-focused policies aimed at improving workers' welfare, enhancing productivity, and maintaining an effective public service.
He used the occasion to extend warm Eid-el-Kabir wishes to civil servants and all Kano residents, and offered prayers for lasting peace, unity, and prosperity across the state and the country.
