Political activist Aisha Yesufu has stirred reactions online after responding to her party’s unexpected move concerning the FCT senatorial race ahead of the 2027 elections.

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has publicly responded to reports that her political party has opted against holding primary elections for the FCT senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The statement, shared on her official page, confirmed that while the party will not conduct a senatorial primary in the FCT, it plans to proceed with primaries for House of Representatives seats in the territory.
In her message, Yesufu urged her supporters to remain composed and keep their eyes on the broader goal particularly the presidential election expressing confidence that Nigeria would ultimately be fine.
She also took the opportunity to thank everyone who had rallied behind her senatorial ambition, acknowledging their dedication and commitment to the campaign.
Looking ahead, she announced plans to revisit all six Area Councils within the FCT in the coming weeks to personally express gratitude for the warm reception she received during her earlier outreach, while continuing to work toward her vision of a better FCT.
