A resident of Mittiri Village in Yobe State, Ibrahim Mittiri, has reportedly admitted to making a false terrorism allegation against a local hunter, driven by a long-running personal feud between the two men.

The incident was brought to public attention through a post shared on social media by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to security sources, the matter began on May 24 when Mittiri allegedly told another local resident, Umar Abdullahi commonly known as Gajeri that hunter Aji Ibrahim had ties to the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The claim was subsequently relayed to troops of Sector 2 under Operation Hadin Kai, resulting in the hunter's arrest.

However, preliminary investigations quickly cast doubt on the allegation. Authorities discovered that Mittiri and the hunter had been locked in a personal dispute spanning seven years a matter reportedly still being handled by a court.

When questioned, Mittiri reportedly admitted that the accusation was entirely fabricated and motivated by personal grievances, confessing that his goal was to have the hunter arrested and subjected to harsh treatment at the hands of security operatives.

Investigators also uncovered a more troubling dimension to the case, finding that both Mittiri and Umar Abdullahi were allegedly involved in gathering intelligence for local groups and had been receiving monthly payments in exchange for such activities.

Both suspects are now in custody and are expected to face further investigation and potential prosecution for making a false accusation and misusing security processes.
