A House of Representatives member representing Aba North/Aba South constituency has drawn attention after making a dramatic appearance at a busy market junction to mobilise traders for voter registration ahead of the 2027 elections and strengthen support for the Labour Party.
A 45-year-old House of Representatives member representing Aba North/Aba South constituency took his campaign to the streets, visiting a bustling market junction to encourage traders to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 elections and drum up support for the Labour Party.
Dressed in white and wearing sunglasses, the lawmaker arrived on the back of a motorcycle, wading into the thick of the market crowd in what appeared to be a deliberate effort to connect with ordinary constituents on the ground.
The outing, however, drew mixed reactions. Critics were quick to bring up a 2024 incident in which he was embroiled in a scandal involving the assault of a Bolt driver, dismissing the market visit as nothing more than an election-season performance designed to boost his public image.
Supporters, on the other hand, viewed the gesture more charitably, seeing it as a genuine attempt by the lawmaker to identify with the everyday transportation struggles faced by residents in the area.
