Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his administration's dedication to the "Rivers First" principle, which he described as the core philosophy guiding his government's decisions and development agenda over the past three years.

In an anniversary message marking three years in office, the governor emphasised that the welfare of Rivers people has been at the heart of everything his administration has done since taking power. His Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, signed the statement on his behalf.

Governor Fubara highlighted the administration's significant investment in road infrastructure as a deliberate strategy to improve connectivity between rural and urban areas while stimulating economic growth across the state.

Key projects cited include the Port Harcourt Ring Road, the Trans-Kalabari Highway, the Elele/Umudioga/Egbeda/Ubimini/Ikiri/Omoku Road, and the Ngo-Atlantic/Oyorokoto Road all undertaken to attract investment and drive development.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their trust and confidence, pledging not to betray that trust and assuring that public funds would continue to be managed responsibly in the interest of the people.

He credited the progress achieved over the past three years to the determination and hardworking spirit of Rivers residents.

The governor also renewed his personal commitment to transparent leadership, promising to listen more, speak less, and ensure that every project, policy, and public expenditure genuinely serves the people's interests.

While acknowledging that much work remains to be done, he called on all segments of society from elders and youths to traders, teachers, farmers, and professionals to keep contributing to the state's growth.

Fubara also took the occasion to celebrate Nigeria's 27 consecutive years of uninterrupted democratic rule, describing it as a historic milestone and a testament to Nigerians' collective ability to coexist and pursue national progress despite ethnic and political differences.
