Army Arrests 25-Year-Old Suspected Boko Haram Informant In Borno Operation

Nigerian Army troops have detained a young man accused of allegedly aiding insurgents with logistics and intelligence in Borno State during a targeted surveillance operation.

Troops of the Nigerian Army's 7 Division Provost Group have arrested a 25-year-old man identified as Mohammed Bulama, on allegations that he provided logistical and intelligence support to Boko Haram terr%rists operating in Borno State.

Bulama, a resident of Mafa Local Government Area, was apprehended during an intelligence-driven surveillance operation conducted within the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council area.

According to reports, the arrest took place on June 1 at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the Ngawom area of Muna Garage, after security operatives had reportedly monitored his movements and activities over a period of time.

Preliminary investigations are said to suggest that Bulama allegedly assisted members of the terr%rist group by supplying logistics and passing on sensitive information.

Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, citing military sources, reported that the suspect acknowledged during questioning that he had connections with other insurgent operatives active in the region.

Bulama reportedly expressed a willingness to cooperate with security agencies and provide information that could help in identifying and apprehending other members of the terr%rist network.

He remains in the custody of the 7 Division Provost Group while investigations into the matter continue.
