Relatives of worshippers kidn@pped during an att@ck on an Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) congregation in Omugo, Oro Ago District, Kwara State, have disclosed that they paid ₦20 million and provided food supplies to secure the freedom of their loved ones after months of back-and-forth negotiations with their captors.

Online reports indicate that the kidn@ppers initially placed a demand of ₦1 billion for the release of the victims, before bringing the figure down to ₦150 million during talks.

After lengthy negotiations, the families managed to pool together ₦20 million alongside food items as part of a deal reached with the abd¥ctors.

However, despite honouring the agreement, the situation took a devastating turn as the kidn@ppers allegedly went ahead to k+ll five of the eight worshippers still being held in captivity.

The shocking betrayal has triggered widespread outrage and reignited serious concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the country and the rapidly growing menace of kidn@pping targeting innocent citizens, including churchgoers.
