Nollywood actor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives aspirant Emeka Ike has opened up about the deep sense of vulnerability he experienced after his personal data held by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was allegedly exposed.

Speaking during an interview on a television programme, Ike described the FCT data leak as a gross abuse of power, saying it left him feeling genuinely unsafe a feeling he said was entirely new to him.

He questioned whether anyone in authority was truly working to protect ordinary Nigerians, describing the incident as deeply shocking and disturbing.

The actor framed the leak as an act of political radicalism, saying it amounted to those in power sending a message to Nigerians that they are untouchable and in complete control.

Ike confirmed that he has since taken legal action, disclosing that his lawyer has already written formally to Lere Olayinka, the media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, whom he identified in connection with the incident.

He added that correspondence has also been sent to INEC, his party, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force, all in a bid to ensure that the incident is officially documented and that those responsible are held to account.
