Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has boldly declared that President Bola Tinubu would defeat opposition presidential candidates such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in an election conducted not just once, but even ten times over.

Fayose made this assertion during an interview on a television programme, responding to the growing chorus of voices on social media calling on Tinubu to resign from office over the escalating insecurity situation in the country.

He dismissed the calls for resignation, arguing that with just one year remaining before the next election cycle, there is no need for such agitation.

The former governor also took a swipe at those championing the opposition, suggesting that supporters of both Atiku and Peter Obi are ultimately rallying behind candidates who represent more of the same, describing it as simply transferring power from one set of hands to another without meaningful change.

Fayose was emphatic in his conviction that Tinubu, having fought his way to the presidency without the backing of his predecessor former President Muhammadu Buhari, is far too determined and politically savvy to simply step aside and allow the opposition to unseat him.

He expressed full confidence that the president would outmanoeuvre his rivals in any electoral contest, adding with characteristic bluntness that even he himself would have no trouble defeating the opposition.
