The Social Democratic Party presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has sparked debate with comments linking worsening insecurity to what he describes as a lack of decisive government action.

Social Democratic Party Presidential Candidate Adewole Adebayo has attributed the growing boldness of b@ndits across the country to what he describes as the government's leniency in tackling insecurity.

Speaking on the matter, Adebayo argued that the government possesses both superior firepower and intelligence-gathering capabilities but has failed to deploy them decisively against criminal elements.

"Anybody will be bold until they're hit with a bullet in the head. The government has the bigger gun and intelligence gathering but they're not using it," he said.

He also defended the capacity of the Nigerian Police Force, describing it as extremely competent but significantly underrated, while criticising what he sees as the politicisation of law enforcement.

"The Nigerian police is extremely competent but are being underrated. Our job is to pass laws for the police to enforce, not to use political powers to control them," Adebayo stated.
