Nigerian singer and one half of the defunct P-Square duo, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has urged fans to stop comparing him to his twin brother and former bandmate Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, or any other musician.

Speaking in a recent video broadcast, Mr P said he wants to focus on his solo career without distractions, emphasising that he is unique and wants to be allowed to chart his own path.

"Stop comparing me with my brother or anyone else. Enough of the comparisons. I want to do me. There is no one like me. I want to do my thing and chop my money," he said.

Mr P also claimed that his brief reunion with Rudeboy negatively affected the momentum of his solo career, saying he was gaining 100,000 Instagram followers daily before the reunion but lost that momentum afterwards.

"Before the reunion, I used to gain 100,000 followers every day. After Davido, it was Don Jazzy and me who were the biggest African celebrities on social media.

But after the reunion, everything just dropped," he said in a recent interview with a radio station.

Mr P added that he deserves more recognition for his contributions to the music industry, stressing that he has remained relevant for nearly three decades.

"I have been in the game for nearly 30 years, and I am still trending to date. I deserve more respect," he said.
