Fresh controversy has erupted in Zamfara State following the sudden suspension of a top academic official over allegations of misconduct and insubordination.

The Zamfara State Government has suspended the Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Dr Sirajo Shinkafi, over alleged misconduct and insubordination.
The suspension, which took immediate effect, was announced on Monday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada.
According to the statement, the decision was taken to ensure the smooth running of academic and administrative activities at the institution, with the government assuring the polytechnic community and the public that measures had been put in place to guarantee uninterrupted administration.
The state government did not disclose further details regarding the specific allegations against the rector but maintained that the action was necessary to safeguard effective management of the institution.
Efforts to reach Dr Shinkafi for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
