Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has urged the people of the South-East to throw their weight behind President Bola Tinubu, calling on them to move away from what he termed the "alliance of protest" in favour of an "alliance for progress and prosperity."

The governor made this appeal in a post shared on social media on Tuesday, following his public declaration of support during a rally organized by the Ebonyi State Government in honour of President Tinubu's second-term ambition.

Soludo, who attended the event alongside Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru and other political figures, said the moment had come for progressives nationwide to close ranks behind the president and his administration.

In his post, he noted that the South-East must steer clear of repeating past political decisions which, in his view, had failed to serve the region's interests.

He recalled joining the Ebonyi State governor and other progressives in Abakaliki to stand in solidarity with President Tinubu, stressing that the time had come for unity and that the era of mere complaints should give way to a shift from protest politics to a coalition focused on progress and shared prosperity.

He urged the Igbo people to unite and avoid squandering their votes once again.

Speaking further at Monday's rally, Soludo referred to Governor Nwifuru as his brother and voiced solidarity with him over the endorsement of President Tinubu, noting that he had come to march in support of a leader who, by the grace of God, would remain governor until 2031, and to stand with him as he formally endorsed the President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria.

The Anambra governor maintained that progressives across the nation must collaborate to deepen national unity and back policies geared toward development, adding that his presence at the event reflected a broader push for progressives to come together.

The endorsement rally drew political leaders and supporters in Ebonyi State, with attendees expressing backing for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
