A fresh security crackdown could be on the horizon after Olatunji Rilwan Disu issued a tough warning following a tragic incident that claimed the lives of security personnel in Zamfara State.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has vowed to strengthen collaboration among security agencies in the fight against banditry and other violent crimes nationwide, declaring that the security forces had reached a breaking point with such criminality.
He made this declaration in Gusau, Zamfara State, shortly after attending funeral prayers for three police officers k!lled by an improvised explosive device allegedly planted by b@ndits along the Bagega–Anka road, during a condolence visit to the state following the att@ck.
Disu stated that the Police Force, in conjunction with other security agencies, would no longer tolerate kidn@ppings, k!llings, and other criminal acts targeting innocent citizens.
He assured that the sacrifice of the fallen officers would not be in vain, noting that efforts were underway to ensure the perpetrators face justice.
He commended the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other agencies for their sustained cooperation in tackling insecurity, and assured that coordinated operations would continue until banditry and related crimes are drastically curbed across the country.
The IGP further urged police personnel to remain alert and professional in carrying out their duties, promising improved welfare packages and logistical support for officers.
He emphasized that the Federal Government and security leadership remained fully committed to restoring peace and stability throughout the nation.
Disu called on officers to step up efforts aimed at denying criminal elements room to operate and to prevent further att@cks on communities, stressing the need for security personnel to stay proactive in responding to threats in order to safeguard lives and rebuild public confidence.
He concluded by reaffirming the determination of security agencies to maintain pressure on criminal groups until lasting peace is restored in the affected regions.
