An unidentified Nigerian woman has gone viral online after sharing a tearful account of becoming a single mother to eight children fathered by seven different men, insisting that none of it was planned.
The clip, which originated on social media before spreading further online, drew a wave of reactions, with many commenters dismissing her account as reflecting a repeated pattern of choices rather than mere misfortune, with some harshly suggesting that reaching such a point repeatedly pointed to a lifestyle rather than bad luck.
A handful of voices, however, called for greater empathy, pointing out that real struggles such as poverty and abandonment often contribute to single motherhood in Nigeria, even as much of her personal background remains unknown.
