Bandits Strike Under Rain Cover, Kill 2 and Make Shocking Abductions in Sokoto

Fear and panic swept through parts of Sokoto after deadly midnight raids left families shattered and entire communities in distress.

During separate attacks in Sokoto State's Sabon Birni and Wurno local government areas, suspected bandits killed two persons and abducted seventeen others, including three orphaned children, married women, and other locals.

According to locals, the attack happened late on Tuesday and early on Wednesday, and the people used the heavy rain as cover.


Five children and two married women, identified as Lami, the wife of Sani Tela, and Hajara, the wife of Lauwali Tarno, were abducted by the attackers in Tarah village, Sabon Birni LGA.

Residents claim that two of the abducted youngsters belong to Lami and three are orphans. The kids range in age from five to nine.

Additionally, the attackers sh%t another resident in the leg and k+lled Nazifi Lauwali Kamtsa.

Around one in the morning on Wednesday, bandits attacked Gidan Daji Alkammu village in Wurno LGA, killing a resident named Hussaini and abducting ten people, including four men and six women.

Locals bemoaned the area's growing insecurity and the lack of security guards during the attacks. The Sokoto State Police Command promised to confirm the reports.
